Getting ready

Another yard sale find was this baby-doll that I bought from a friend's house. It was naked when I got it for one dollar but I brought it home and dressed it in one of Tristan's preemie sleepers. It now has clothing and a gender, it's a boy! We still don't have a name for him yet. I am trying to teach Tristan how to treat a baby and be gentle, OK, you can stop laughing now! He's actually really sweet with it. He wants to kiss the baby and cuddle it. If we are outside, he says "bebe" and points to the back patio door like he wants to check on him! He also knows which room will be the baby's room but I'm afraid that he thinks that we are going to all this trouble for a doll... Oh well, I guess he'll see soon enough!

Cuddles

Kisses

And once again the "smile for the camera" face!

No laughing here...it's a great idea! Everyone was always amazed at how great both Andrew and then Jacob were with their new sibling(s). But we did just what you're doing...letting them pretend appropriately, getting used to the idea, as we were doing various things we would talk about what they baby would be doing or how that particular activity would be different with the new baby, and praying for (by name, when we'd chosen it) the new baby every night. By the time that baby was born, they were already a full-fledged part of their thinking process. Oh, and we avoided all those horrid books that tell how the character is so jealous of the new baby!
You're doing great!
