A Big Boy Bed

So, I guess you could say that Mummy was a little more worried about the transition to his twin bed than Tristan was! He was really excited about it this afternoon when we put everything together but he was mostly excited about helping us dust the furniture!

Once we had it in place he would lay down and say "dah-dight" which, of course, means goodnight! Here he is playing in bed this afternoon!

We did tell him that this was not the best idea, but he has the instinct that all kids do to jump on the bed!

At bedtime he didn't want to read any books, which is very unusual, he just wanted to get into his bed! So, we let him get in and we said goodnight. And he cried! For what seemed like ages... But, he often cries until we go in to see him again and give him one more cuddle. So, I went back in and gave him another cuddle and then put him down with his taggie and hungry puppy and squishy bear, all the usual bedtime friends! And...

That was it! He went to sleep. I was amazed but Chris reminded me that he is pretty easy going and adaptable and that I shouldn't really be that shocked. So, I peeked in on him to get a picture.

He wasn't exactly where he should be, but he was still in bed!

What a big boy, indeed! Leaving babyhood behind. Toddlerhood firmly in place. Hide the car keys!

Ok, any tips you have for that please pass along!! We still have to fix Amelia's big girl room up, but hope to move her by her b'day. Glad to hear it was such a smooth transition for Tristan! :-)
