For weeks, perhaps months, Tristan has been saying that he wants to take Grandad and Auntie Shelley to the beach. He didn't say that he wanted to take Grandma but we let her come too! It was busier than I've ever seen it but then again, it was a Friday and it was the middle of the day! We usually go really early and leave by noon or wait until later in the afternoon to get there around 5pm! But, we were still able to find a place to sit and build sandcastles and the water felt really good on a hot day. We all went all the way in, including Tristan who went under once or twice! He's getting pretty good about the water and knowing when to breathe! But, his favorite activity is still to jump over the waves, with help of course.

Building the sandcastle, I think we saw Grandad having more fun and getting more done while Tristan was walking down the beach to look for shells with Grandma (or as he calls her, "Ma")

Being fearless in the waves, we had to really watch him or he would just run out into the ocean!
Tristan would bring back water to fill the moat but it never quite made it all the way back to the sandcastle...
At the end of the day it was time for Tristan to stomp all over the sandcastle...
