I had been noticing that when Tristan was napping the baby monitor by my bed hadn't been working right. Not really a problem because we live in a small house and I can hear him easily (when I'm not asleep too). So, I had checked on him the last couple of days only to find that the child unit which is on the tall dresser by his bed had been switched off. Coincidence? I think not.
When I went in to get him up from his nap today this is the conversation that we had:
Mummy: "Tristan, can I ask you a question?"
Cheeky Monkey: "Yeah"
Mummy: "When you are falling asleep for your nap, do you climb up on your dresser and press this button?"
Cheeky Monkey: "Yes"
Mummy: "Can you show Mummy how you do that?"
Cheeky Monkey proceeds to climb up on the side of the dresser, squirm like a snake to the other side, turn off the monitor and squirm back down into bed, followed by a huge cheeky grin of accomplishment!
So, tomorrow we will be moving the monitor over to his book shelf on the other side of the room! He never does it at bed-time, just during naps. I can't figure out if that's because it's too dark at night or if he just can't climb while wearing a sleep-sack to bed! He also never gets out of bed when he's napping or at bed-time, he waits for us to come in there and get him, for which we are very thankful!
Here he is sleeping peacefully in bed a few moments ago, I just can't get enough of how cute he is while he sleeps (and often while he's awake too)!
Update on the air conditioning... They haven't fixed it yet, they are waiting for some parts to come in a 'couple of days' so hopefully it will be sooner rather than later. The good news is that it has been much cooler today and is supposed to be that way for a few days. Mum, Dad and Shelley are coming tomorrow to fill our home with warm bodies, so we are hoping it will still be nice and cool! We are excited to see them, Tristan thinks that they are coming on a plane!
