I'm a bit of an idiot sometimes

Last week I did so much baby laundry, probably about 8 loads... I sorted through a lot of clothes and was able to donate some to a friend at church who is having a boy at the same time. Let's face it, Tristan really had too many clothes to wear anyway.

I also washed the cover to the bouncy seat in the picture in the last post. When I took it out of the washer and dryer, it seemed somewhat smaller than when it went in and sure enough it had shrunk. So, I panicked! Then Mum suggested to re-wash it again and just not dry it but to try stretching it over the frame... worth a shot. But, no matter how hard I tugged at it, I just could not get it to reach all the way around and to velcro together at the bottom (underneath behind the feet).

Another friend offered to give me hers which I really appreciated but it's not the same as using the one I had because it matches the nursery so nicely and after all, it's nice to be able to re-use all the same things again.

So, I just posted this morning the photo below and 2 friends commented on how they had the same seat, one actually said "did yours shrink when you washed it?" So, I felt a little better about it, I guess I'm not the only one out there who doesn't always read the washing instructions...

Anyway, after these comments I was looking back at the photo and I just happened to notice how much of an idiot I am... If you look at the picture, the fabric at the bottom feeds through a gap by the feet. I had been trying to stretch it all the way over the end and thus making the ends not even close to meeting. If you take a look at the picture you'll see what I mean! As soon as I noticed this I rushed into the nursery to see if I was being as much of an idiot as I thought and sure enough... I'm a moron!

When I passed the velcro straps through the opening they fit just fine and so now it works! I do think that all the stretching and struggling that I did while the cover was wet is in part the reason that it fits too! I feel so much better that I haven't carelessly wasted a great seat! I do still feel a bit silly, but nevertheless I am just happy that the problem is solved!!!

I hope that this silly story makes some of you feel better for doing some of the same silly things!!!
