Our Christmas tree!

OK, I know, it is a little late (or maybe some would say early) in the season to be posting about Christmas trees.  But, I was looking through some recent pictures and I discovered that I still have the pictures from when we cut down our tree in the rain and I haven't shared them with a soul! So, here we go.

Over the last few years we bought our Christmas tree from a local place that had great trees that they were selling for a good cause but they were getting increasingly expensive.  Long story short is that I decided I would rather give $100 to a charity or cause of my choosing than pay $85 for a Christmas tree!    So, we ventured out to a local place where you can cut down your own tree, any one in the lot, for $25 so that seemed like a better deal!

We did take a while to find one and occasionally misplaced a small boy while looking but they always came out from behind a tree one place or another.  It was rainy and muddy but it was fun!  We got a super tree and some free locally grown popping corn at the end.

There are children in there somewhere!

Of course Daddy did all the hard work while Mummy took some pictures!

The blurry finished tree!  The boys also got their own small tree that we had in the attic so that they could proudly display all of their oh so beautiful creations somewhere other than in the living room!

I should add that the tree was beautiful for about a day!  On day 2, one of the strands of lights stopped working and over the next two days, two more sets of lights quit on me!  So, by a week or so before Christmas there was only one lit strand that was mostly concentrated on the bottom half of the tree!  So, we will be buying more lights next year!
