Two for One!

I thought I posted this yesterday but apparently not so you will get a 2 for 1 today!

It is almost time for the Polar Express Train to return to the North Pole and I couldn't be happier!  The boys do not share the same sentiment, they are desperate for it to stay longer but Santa's rules say he has to come and take it back until next year.  Don't get me wrong, I love to see the joy on their faces when Santa brings it each Christmas morning, but after a full 12 days of Christmas, I am so ready for it to go by the time Epiphany rolls around and the tree comes down!  It causes a lot of noise and arguments and fits of dispair when it comes off the track or the batteries die and boy does that thing take a lot of battieries!

So, for nostalgia, here are a few scenes of the boys enjoying the train this year!

So, it is sort of funny now that I didn't post this yesterday because after we packed it all up tonight and I was taking the box to the attic Chris commented on how it was a sad day to see the train go!  Really?  I am surprised at this but he does have a point.  While it is noisy and causes all the problems that I mentioned above, they sure do LOVE that train!  Anthing that makes them smile and happy has the same effect on us.  But, I say that they will be able to love it again just as much next year an it won't be nearly so special if it is here year round.  Fortunately they have plenty of other things that they can enjoy year round!  I think Santa is pretty smart for wanting to come and get it to take it back to the North Pole for safe keeping!  So, until next year, Farewell to the Polar Express train.
